I’m Jocelyn, a recent graduate of Brigham Young University with a major in English. My parents would say that I am actually a double-major and that my second major is Disney. My diploma, however, will only bear record of the first major and that is just fine.
Stories and writing have been an integral part of my life since I was a wee little one (circa 1st grade, possibly kindergarten). I loved listening to my dad’s stories before bed, I would make up stories and adventures with my dolls and I would reimagine the tv shows and movies that I watched (mainly Disney), putting myself into the picture. Once I learned how to read and write, I was off to tell and share my own stories.
Just days after my 21st birthday, I got to live a new dream and move to Orlando, Florida to work for Mickey Mouse and the Walt Disney Company as a merchandise cast member in the Disney College Program. Working in the Magic Kingdom, I had this unbelievable access to stories and magical moments that I never until then experienced.
As a Disneyland cast member during the summer and fall of 2015, I was able to gain dual-citizenship between the United States of America and Tatooine. I don’t speak fluent Aurabesh but I’m working on it. I did get to continue to improve my improv skills while I was in California though, creating stories on the spot with guests from all over the world. In May of 2017, I moved to California once again to start a third program with the Walt Disney Company and was able to experience an amazing amount of new stories and adventures.
At the end of January 2018, I returned back to (snowy) Utah where I am currently based. Salt Lake City, UT was named one of the top 10 creative cities in the US by Huffpost in 2015 and I’m looking forward to experiencing more of what the city has to offer.
Now I welcome you to my site where you will be able to find all of my current and completed projects.
